Tomball Tollway

Harris County, Texas

Consor provided plans, specifications, and estimate (PS&E) suitable for letting by TxDOT for the addition of six mainlanes and four entrance/exit ramps in Harris County. This section was designed as part of the complete tollway system beginning 1.5 miles north of Spring Cypress Road and ending 0.66 miles north of FM 2920, a length of 2.95 miles. Bridges designed include Willow Creek and Holderrieth Road/Tomball Parkway. We provided design services for roadway geometrics, grading, SW3P, bridge layouts, and detailing. Roadway plan production was for mainlane plan/profile, ramp plan/profile, removal plans, and superelevation diagrams. The bridge over Willow Creek was designed as a box beam bridge, matching existing frontage road bridge construction. The bridge at Holderrieth Road/Tomball Parkway was designed using prestressed concrete I-girders. Bridge finishes were coordinated using the TxDOT Houston District Green Ribbon guidelines. The project was developed under the direction of a General Engineering Consultant (GEC) wherein project related issues were addressed between GEC staff, Harris County Toll Road Authority (HCTRA), adjacent section engineers, and internal section engineers.
