I-10 Widening West Construction Outreach
This $170M project widens I-10 from two to three lanes in each direction between North Mesa Street in El Paso and Spur 37 in the Village of Vinton. The project also reconfigures the location of onramps and offramps between North Mesa and the Texas-New Mexico State Line. In close coordination with the general contractor and TxDOT’s public information officers, Consor created weekly closure digests, social media content, and highly detailed traffic control maps to support consistent communication, which helped notify motorists and stakeholders of upcoming traffic impacts.
Our team produced and distributed door-to-door notifications to businesses along the corridor ahead of major closures and traffic switches. We also assembled and distributed information to an extensive stakeholder list, which included first responders, school districts, churches, and major commercial centers ahead of high impact work. At key milestones, our team created construction progress update videos that used work zone and drone footage to share information about traffic flow disruptions and demonstrate the value of this investment. Tying the outreach efforts together, Consor’s in-house graphic designers also created a project logo and brand guidelines.
